  1. black & gold n my viens says:

Brian, cmon man i love your top 5 section, but being a hawk fan yourself ya get to get bryan bulaga’s name spelled right if i’m going to buy the roster’s again

  2. Tim says:

you’ve got to be kidding having Kennan Stadium as Top 25 toughest place to play…were you just trying to fill out the Top 25 and just picked places at random??? they can barely get there stadium filled when basketball season isn’t started…I bet ECU would be up there before them and how you put them over NC State’s Carter-Finley Stadium is a big mystery. I’ve heard sideline reporters that have said the Carter was louder then when they were at Michigan and Clemson…come on down to NC State and we’ll show you how tough that place is.

  3. ACCman says:

LOL at #25, the second emptiest stadium on a regular basis in the ACC, only Duke has worse attendance. Generally the largest and loudest crowds in Kenan Stadium is the visiting team’s fans.

  4. OHSWarhorse22 says:

UNC one of the toughest places to play? That is laughable. That venue is usually at most 3/4 full and sounds like a funeral home.

  5. Big Mike says:

    Is #25 serious?

  6. Go Tigers says:

Kenan Memorial Stadium, might be one of the least tough place to play in the acc (excluding duke)and probably the second easy place to play in the state of north carolina. I think you might have meant NC State’s Carter Finley stadium

  7. WolverinePack20 says:

ROFL at #25… yea the blinding aluminum makes Keenan a REALLY tough place to play. What a freaking joke.

  8. Stephen says:

Wow…Kenan Stadium??? That’s the quietest stadium in the ACC. Lousy fans = lousy atmosphere.

  9. Jesse says:

UNC at 25, seriously? This just goes to show how much the media loves this school. There is nothing scary about UNC’s football stadium. It’s a great quiet place to go read a book.

  10. Ladies and Gentleman,

I apologize for putting Kenan Stadium in the top 25. They have been promptly removed, and I have replaced them with West Virginia. I get the hint that some of you are upset NC State fans. Yes, I know that can be a tough place to play, but they haven’t been as good as of late. I just added them in my list of teams just missing the cut though.

  11. Jason says:

LOL at all the wuffies on here crying.

  12. Brian Kaldenberg is an Idiot says:

UNC’s stadium is a joke; the only time Kenan gets loud is when the whine and cheese fans have filed out and the away teams crowd starts to cheer.
P.S. way to have some balls and stand by your prediction(sarcasm).

  13. MGP says:

South Carolina will make it back in for 2010

  14. ACCHEEL says:

HA how can Carter Finley be close to the top 25. State has only beaten UNC 4 times in 40 years at home.

The local nickname is Carolina Friendly Stadium.

  15. Jon C says:

Every game at Kenan has been sold out the last two seasons and 09 will be no different. The mentality and environment changed when Butch came to town. UNC is turning the corner and will be a mainstay in the Top 10 within the next couple of years. No need to let bitter State fans influence your list.

  16. packfan says:

You might want to figure out how to beat Coach O’Brien and Coach Holtz at EZU before you talk about being a “mainstay in the top 10″. Russell Wilson is your daddy.

  17. Its all about the ''U" says:

Washington’s stadium should be in the top 25, even though they suck their stadium is still rockin’ on saturdays thats why the t.v screen is shaking for their games

  18. Its all about the ''U" says:

    MIAMI!

  19. Runz says:

WVU is alot louder than a bunch of teams above it

  20. Its all about the ''U" says:

I hate that EA ranks stadiums more based off how good the team is other than the actual loudness of the stadiums…..if a stadium is loud its loud doesnt matter if there a trash team.

  21. Red and Black TTU says:

I almost think Michigan should be taken off this list. I have been to their stadium before and like every opposing team fan say, for having that many people they are really dismal and quiet. And it’s true the fans are not ultra rowdy or supportive and do not have creative cheers or chants to rock the stadium. Michigan lost to an FCS team in App. State at home and then the next year lost to Toledo at home who didn’t even win their own non BCS conference that year. I get tired of “The Big House”. So many other places have long standing home winning streaks that spand over years in tough confernces.

  22. Its all about the ''U" says:

Red and Black TTU- I agree 100%. If your not winning games let alone the EASY ones then you should definitley be taken off top places to play. Only team that is trash that I can say their stadium is rockin’ is Washington, if you watch their games on t.v the tiv screen is shaking b/c the stadium is so loud. A couple years ago they were the #6 stadium in the game right behind Autzen Stadium (Oregon) but got taken off b/c they been losing a lot so do the same to Michigan.

  23. bigballin says:

WTF!!! NO MIZZOU??? MIZZOU has the loudest stadium in the NCAA now. Its a fact look it up.

  24. jrid3 says:

yeah as unc fan i agree you shouldnt put kenan, but your a fuckin idiot not having them in the top 25 polls

  25. woodyhayesistheman says:

The only thing NC State has left is the howl every time they score which is FAR from often so it’s not that loud down there. I’ve been to six or seven games down there and it hasn’t been very loud since Philip Rivers left. That’s just an opinion. Mizzou shouldn’t even be on the list for the simple fact of no one even spoke of Mizzou until two years ago. Now that Maclin is gone, psst, who’s there to talk about, they’re chubby 5′10 quarterback? Isn’t he gone too though? Michigan is a damn sorry joke. I’m from Boone, NC where Appalachian State is located and the population of the town is roughly 14,000 and it’s only that high because of the college. Michigan’s “Big House” holds what, seven times that many people? To get embarrassed on your home field by a team half your size should have you banned from any positive list of football accolades for at least a decade.

  26. Orangeblood says:

Neyland should be higher.. 100,000 fans (not like Mich. sound stays in), in an old shaky stadium, “Rockytop” sung all night long, and then you have to deal with a top ten most winning football team ever… BTW LSU higher than the swamp

  27. Kelly Brown says:

Hi, very nice post. I have been wonder’n bout this issue,so thanks for posting

  28. Chris says:

LSU Higher than the swamp? You gotta be kidding. LSU fans dont even stand up the whole time. The swamp is 3 times louder than tiger stadium

  29. flashypaws says:

over the last 10 years, boise state is 58-2 at home. overall… 202-49. how exactly is this list made? :p

  30. Vince says:

The shoe at night wasn’t that difficult

  31. Geaux says:

    Chris —

the swamp is not 3 times louder than Tiger Stadium. Also, neither of the fans stand up the entire game. The student sections do, but other fans don’t stand the entire game in either stadium and I’ve been to both many times.

Both are extremely loud. I don’t know how you could really saw one is louder than the other IMHO.

  32. Geaux says:

If LSU doesn’t get shafted this year and get a bunch of day games at home the place will REALLLYYYY be rockin’.

Day games are loud, but give us coonasses a couple more hours to sip on the whiskey and the place vibrates!

    GEAUX TIGERS!

  33. Adam says:

Clemson at 20? Seriously? You need to visit Death Valley, and then tell me it’s behind 19 other teams. All that orange, and loud as heck. And fans are passionate. Sham.

  34. Brandon says:

LSU should be higher than UF…it is constantly louder..not by much, but it is a tougher place to play than UF imo..Still the toughest place to play in the nation

  35. PSU nat champs! says:

Seriously?? I’m getting a little sick of Beaver Stadium not being #1 on this list. Come to PA for a night game at the beav and this decision is a wrap!!!!!

  36. DUCKFAN says:

OREGON IS WAY HARDER TO PLAY THAN # 10….a couple years ago it was at # 3

  37. FBALLFANATIC says:

just saw this listing and anyone who thinks kennan stadium is empty and quiet has never been there and on a larger level perhaps everyone should not comment on somewhere unless they have been there. and va tech at #10 is a joke ask anyone who has come in on a thursday night how much they enjoyed there experience

  38. Jared says:

An editor at the paper in chapel hill wrote about how much louder ECU was than Carolina. He clearly stated that the tailgating was better at ECU as well as the wild fan.

  39. monique says:

I dont get why Autzen Stadium (oregon ducks) are 10? they hold 54000 ppl but the noise is about double tht
    GO DUCKS!!

  40. Hotdogskater says:

I don’t know how you could say that LSU is tougher than the swamp. We beat you in LSU. Go Gators

  41. Iowaboi says:

Finally alittle love for my hawks!

  42. GO COWBOYS says:

i think oklahoma state needs to be on there becasue oklahoma state is the roudest stadium to so if ya think arkansas is ya are wrong they suck so put okla st on here
