This one is tough. We had to leave out many good teams because we either think they’ll be A-’s or they just weren’t good enough to make our top five. Here’s our top five B+ or lower teams to use in NCAA 10.
- 1. Georgia Tech – With the new NCAA Football 10 additions this year to the flexbone formation, I think Georgia Tech is going to be used frequently. Quarterback Josh Nesbitt and outstanding running back Jonathan Dwyer return to an offense that is bringing back all 11 starters. Players who master the flexbone will love Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets also return all seven in their secondary.
- 2. Iowa – The Hawkeye’s should be a solid B+ team in NCAA Football 10. Rick Stanzi returns as the quarterback, and he should be a solid passing QB with decent speed. Three return on last year’s offensive line including one of the nation’s top offensive tackles in Bryan Bulaga. The defense returns eight starters from last year’s #7 scoring defense in the nation. Iowa should be a solid all around team and will be a tough team to beat when they are playing at home.
- 3. Penn St. – The Nittany Lions lost a lot from last year’s Rose Bowl team, but they return duel-threat quarterback Daryll Clark and possibly the nation’s best linebacking duo. Evan Royster returns and will be one of the higher rated backs in the game. Penn State loses their entire secondary, but their front seven will nasty. Penn St. will also be a tough out when playing in Happy Valley.
- 4. California – The Bears could easily be an A- team in NCAA Football 10, but we’re going to treat them as a B+. The biggest question mark is at quarterback, but Heisman candidate running back Jahvid Best and three returning offensive lineman will give defenses plenty to worry about. California also returns their top two WR’s. The defense should be good, but LB Zack Foller and Worrell Williams will be missed.
- 5. Notre Dame – The talent is definitely there for this year’s Fighting Irish. Jimmy Clausen should get a decent rating in NCAA Football 10. Notre Dame brings two great wideouts to the table with Golden Tate and Michael Floyd. Kyle Rudolph is an up and coming tight end. Notre Dame should have a solid defense centered around LB Brian Smith, DT Ian Williams, and SS Kyle McCarthy.

Iowa might be a little homer pick wouldn’t you say? What about TCU? Their defense is always good and they return alot on offense this year.
Hunter,
Yeah…. it was kind of a homer pick. I think TCU is going to be very good this year, but they did lose a lot on defense.
True they did lose both tackles, end, 2 linebackers and 2 safeties, but they return all american end in hughes and both corners who are 4 year starters. Daryl Washington might have been their best linebacker last year anyways. Cant wait for the game to come out though.
