Privatization of Pirate Control

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

We’re taking a break from the video game talk, and discussing a real-world issue…

The growing pirate problems facing shipping companies has become a major world-wide epidemic. Insurance companies are salivating, while ship crews are demanding steep increases in pay. The cost of fighting pirates will ultimately be passed on to everyone in the long run. Pirating is a real threat, and something must be done to contain it. I believe I have just the solution to drastically reduce pirating. Read on below to learn more.

The answer is creating a for profit industry known as “private pirate hunting” expeditions. That’s right folks… for a cool $50,000/person you and up to four of you’re buddies can book a 5-day, all inclusive expedition on the 75′ “Executioner”. The armored, high-powered yacht comes fully staffed, and she showcases twin 1100hp engines for superior speed and maneuverability.

Your all-inclusive trip includes daily hand-prepared meals by chef Marcalo Diem, top shelf alcohol, afternoon deep sea fishing and of course a full slate of pirate hunting (snorkeling and para sailing optional add-ons). You’ll receive sniping instructions from our on-board marksman team, and you’ll be able to choose from over 25 different weapons including three of the worlds top sniper rifles.

The excitement doesn’t end there. After you’ve had a chance to get your feet wet, you’ll be led on the “night hunt”. We’ll fire up the GPS, and you’ll put on the night vision goggles and head right into the heart of pirating zones. Night hunts are always a great way to keep the excitement going into the wee hours of the morning.

The above post was written as a fictional advertisement for a potential “Pirate Expedition” company. It is never exciting to take human life, but pirating is becoming a huge problem and drastic actions need to be taken to end pirating’s dangerous ramifications. If anyone can tell me that four to five “Executioners” patrolling the coasts of Somalia wouldn’t drastically decrease pirating, I’m all ears.
