The main reason the SEC is so dominate year in and year out is because of the high school systems. The high school programs in the south are just so better than anywhere else. These kids are conditioned so well from the humidity and the heat. Example...go take at look at South Panola High School. Look at Lakeland, FL...Look at Hoover, AL...the list goes on and on. It is not just the football either. The baseball programs in high school are dominate as well. Thus, look at the CWS this year! All in all, I have to say is that this is not a mystery on why the SEC is the powerhouse in COLLEGE SPORTS. It all starts in the high school ranks.

Why is the SEC the best? Answer in a word - SPEED.

The speed of the conference most closely resembles the NFL of all conferences so it is no coincidence that the best players in the country now want to play in the SEC as they know that is the best route to the pros.

Hee Hee. I'm loving how people are thinking Vandy's offense isnt going to be any good. This is going to be Vandy's best offense in years... even better than the Cutler years. We have a QB in Larry Smith that can make all the throws and receivers all over the field that can go get it (Jeffers, Umoh, Herndon, Cole, Brown, etc. - all people who dont do any work dont know about). Jeffers will be All-SEC by the end of the year. Dont believe me? Just watch. Vandy surprise people?? How many years are we going to have to "surprise" people before it isnt a surprise anymore? 4-4 for VU in the league, 8-4 overall.

our defense will be much improved in the secondary, the line backers will be ok, im worried about the d line though. we have some amazing newcoming CB's that will make the ark secondary one of the best in the nation the next few years

i agree with what you said about my team Arkansas, i think we will win 3-4 sec games and win all the non conference ones like eastern michigan, troy, tex a&m and missouri state, those are all going to be wins imo. Not this year, but next year will be the big one for my hawgs! i think 5-3 or 6-2 in SEC!
