I love the OK State love on the offensive side of the ball, but I’m curious as to why there isn’t a single Big East player on the board? Do you think they are going to have THAT bad of a season? I think you could make an argument for Noel Devine and possibly Matt Grothe.
I think A.J. Green should be added to the top 5 receivers he had a better year than Julio
No love for Jonathon Dwyer out of GT? He beat out spiller for ACC Offensive Player of the year
Chris. Yes AJ had better stats than Julio but that doesnt make him a better reciever. Also look who played quarterback for them… the top draft-pick nd a guy who wasnt drafted. But I feel Rolando McClain should be added to the LB list. Alabama has one of the best if not the best defense n the nation.
Bradford, ought to be a 99 overall winning the heisman in 09
Jevan Snead should be a top 5 QB. He is a Heisman candidate and honorable mention all american
is cp crazy dwyer is garbage spiller is so much better hes the best recieving running back has the most ellusiveness and is the best kick/punt returner in the nation remember he was hurt last year and had to run behind a soon to be great nfl running back and i can rush over a 1000 with like 500 carries
I like the passion fellas.
Mountaineer field is louder and tougher than a lot of the stadiums on the list
really spillerforheisman? i wouldnt call one much better than the other. Spiller is probably the better receiver, but the better at running between the tackles and break tackle ability (not spin or juke) has to be Dwyer. Spiller has better hands (at least from what can be seen on gametape, Dwyer doesnt get the ball thrown to him much) and his juke and spin are better. i would put them probably equal. However, Dwyer should at least be listed in the top 5 RBs. Also from GT, I’m surprised that Morgan Burnett isn’t in the top 5 DBacks.
yea spiller for heisman is an idiot dwyer is bigger stronger and almost as fast with better run and break btw tackles and almost just as good jukes..
dude are u seriously putting spiller and dwyer as equal wow spiller averages 2x as many yards a carry as dwyer and he is the nations best kick/punt returner and he has top 3 hands he could be a top WR if he wanted to thats why he will be the first running back taken in the draft
Brain…. why is dwyer not on that list??????
Dwyer is good. I just didn’t put him on the list because he is kind of a product of the system. He’s good though.
Ok. The recievers are done pretty well, except, where’s AJ Green? AJ Green will be the best reciever in the NCAA next year, guarenteed. Hes not even in your top 5. It should be Green #1, Julio Jones #2. Linebackers, Rennie Curran should at least be in the top 5 also. And Trinton Sturdivant should be your #1 tackle. These are just my opinions mind you but i think im pretty accurate.
it’s not about how good the players are it is how they think they will be rated on the game. for example, Colt McCoy could be a better player than Sam Bradford, but there is a good chance that they will be rated the same on the game.
I currently play football at a PAC-10 university (I’m not a starter yet, but I get on the field plenty). I play on the defensive side of the ball, so I know constitutes a talented offensive player. I believe Dwyer will be underrated in the game. He will be damn good, but his ratings won’t reflect what he has actually accomplished. Dwyer plays in an offense designed to pick up small chunks of yards consistently, control the clock, and keep the other offense of the field/his own defense fresh. GT can do that, but Dwyer can also take it to the house at anytime. This is hard to duplicate in a video game without disappointing fans. People love the spread and big plays, and GT is about the grind/smashmouth football. To make both effective is too challenging in terms of programming to be cost efficient as far as I can tell. It’s a shame, b/c Dwyer changes the dynamic of Tech’s offense and is the only reason a winning record with that kind of offense is viable in the FBS. The reality of his impact will not translate over into virtual reality. This offense (GT) is one very few people thought could work at such a high level because college players are so much more disciplined and fast than their high school counterparts, meaning that it should be easy to contain such a one-dimensional offense. In real life, there are a lot of parallels between Dwyer’s play and that of Adrian Peterson in terms of running style and ability. Dwyer is that good. He is a Heisman-caliber player, though he will probably never be recognized as such due to the nature of GT’s offense. In high school, I played against Dwyer, Aaron Kelly (he was at Clemson, now he is with the ATL falcons), Caleb King (will be the starting UGA tailback this year), Rennie Curran (UGA), Brice Butler (USC), TJ Yates (UNC starting QB), and many other standouts. Over the past two years in the pac-10, I have played against a number of phenomenal college runningbacks including Jahvid Best, Joe McKnight, Stafon Johnson, CJ Gable, Jaquizz Rodgers, and others. I mean it when I say this: Dwyer is hands-down better than all of them. He is the best offensive back I have ever faced at any level. I can’t think of any other player in the NCAA who could do what he has done in that offense. Not Spiller, not Jahvid, nobody. He means more to GT than any other single player does to his respective team. His performance against UGA’s defense erased any doubts I had about that. He also is man of character. I was amazed by how humble and graceful he was when I spoke with him. I’ve never met any other athlete with that level of talent who was so self-deprecating. Too bad that doesn’t count for anything.
AJ Green should probably be 4 or 5, but he’s not as good as Julio, Jones is amazing, it took 8 LSU players to tackle him. He could possibly go to the pro’s after this year. Rolando McClain is projected to be a 1st round draft pick after next year, i’d put him in there.
where the hell is noel devine he was rated in the high 90′s last year and he was a sophomore he averaged 6.2 yards per carry and he rushed for over 1200 yards i doubt his rating got worse this year after that spactacular year he had in west virginia you should take a trip to you tube and check him out he is one of the best running backs this year
How could Jones go pro after next year? He’ll only be a sophomore….I like the Best rating at 97…this kid’s money and I’ll probably use Cal online just because of him.
Spiller averaged 2X more per carry than Dwyer???? Dwyer led the ACC in rushing yards (1200+) and averaged 6.8 yards per carry. So Spiller averaged 14??
craig r u stupid… spiller is so bad he couldnt even start over james horrible davis
top two runningbacks are kendall hunter (okla st), & demarco murray (ou)…..jonathan dwyer is way better than spiller. Spiller is not a everydown back & doesnt have durability. Dwyer is big & fast w/ good durablilty & is good in the passing game & has returned some kickoffs for touchdowns if im not mistaken so I would say dwyer is the more complete back & has started since freshman year.
AJ Green #1 WR? He may be a good player, but he isn’t the best and he hasn’t earned the top spot. Only a biased person would actually think AJ Green is the best receiver in the nation. He’s not gonna put up the numbers Bryant did last year, hell he probaly wont put up the numbers shipley put up last year either.
yea jhone ur right dwyers 4.6 speed is right there with spillers 4.1-4.2 but hes almost as fast
tommy just cause u played football with someone doesnt mean there great
its all about the “U” everyones just laughin at u hunter murry haha
accboi yea james davis was bad this year but he could start for 10-12 teams in the acc still & clemson owed him
but yea all u spiller haters will see when spiller blows dwyer out think o-line spiller was behind worst in acc last year now dwyer will be and we will see and spiller was hurt for 3-4 games and was never 100% u will see why hes gonna be the #1 rb taken in tha draft
wtf best a 97 yea his speed thats about all
where is d. murray from oklahoma probably the most versatile back in college football
AJ-I think d.murray is the 2nd best rb in the nation.
Spillerforheisman- C.Spiller will never be a starting runningback in the NFL (special teams player at best)
dude its all about the “U” everyones still laughin at u ur an idiot man spiller is just as fast as cris johnson has better moves hands and an insane kr/pr johnson balld out his rookie season
d-line- ricky sapp not up there why i mean hes a sack machine or carlos dunlap?
i only see 2 players up there that deserve to be up there
and DBs-who is thompsan and haden is just speed not a great db burnett should be #3/#4 then Lindley then chris chancler who is a lock down cornerback and has averaged 4 piks past 2 seasons sidquan has avg 1pik then last year 4 piks idk tho and thomas austin maybe shouldve been on o-line hes the #1 center in the nation i mean give him some love
spillerforhiesman:
cj ran a 4.4 at his last official 40. where did you hear that he ran a 4.1-4.2?! You realize that devin hester isnt that fast… or anyone in the NFL. Spiller is definitely fast as hell but i promise you that he cannot run a 4.1 40 time… don’t make up stats dude.
so you know i looked up some 40s and hester was recorded with 4.33 and some one said 4.29 but i’m not sure about that. and apparently reggie bush once clocked a 4.28 (according to sporting news). so yea no chance spiller could ever run a 4.1 or 4.2… you completely unrealistic statistics for spiller’s 40 time make me think that you have such a terribly skewed vision of the player you think is deserving of a hiesman (which any back that has split time every year in college does NOT deserve.) what an absurd claim!
cj spiller was also clocked at 4.35… and the only rumor that he can run faster came from people inside the clemson organization… clearly a bias there. and seeing as they have yet to officially clock a 40 at these RUMORED speeds i think you can throw the rumors out the window.
also any guesses on sean spence’s (LB for the U) rating? its gotta be in the 90s i would think. he also has to be an impact player. i would give him a 92. a lot of speed for a LB. maybe in the mid to high 80s… around an 88?
mike just bequite his speed went from 4.4 ta 4.35 to idk know but tigerillustrated has posted several times hes ran a low 4.2 but ud know more than them right? and bush is garbage a terrible nfl running back so who cares and spiller cant win heisman because tebow will throw over 400 screens and rack up passin yards hes highly overated spiller wouldve rushed for 1000 yards if not for injuries and had around 500 recieving wat do u think when those 15 carries turn into 30 he’ll get less yards? and hes also the best kr/pr in the nation but watever who cares about sean spence?
Damn tommy writing a novel up there. If another receiver would step up and help out dez ok state top 3 offense in nation if not 1. Once our d coordinator gets the new system In watch out ou and Texas. Big 12 title coming soon!!!
evan royster should be in the top 5 over numbers 2-5 at rb. and darryl clark is deff rated too high.
WOW!!! To say Dwyer runs a 4.6 is the most ignorant thing I have seen in a while. When you watch tape it is obvious that Dwyer is a very very rare back as he is a big back with exceptional cut back ability and incredible break away speed. He simply runs away from defenders you will never see him get caught from behind and for a 5’11 228 lb back that is simply incredible. He is a rare talent and will be a top 10 pick in the NFL. Seriously most of you all need to get off the sticks for a minute and actually watch some football.
Dwyer runs a high 4.3!!! Seriously you all are fools. When scouting a player for a hobby there are simple steps.
1. Watch college football
2. Watch highlight clips on youtube or insider access if you have it.
3. Read pro scouting reports if they are out yet.
4. Go to ESPN and read High School scouting report. Go look up Dwyer’s its so accurate I love it as our so many others.
5. Look at the stats
6. Make a final analysis
By the way ask anyone, CJ spiller is the most overrated back in the NCAA! No I’m not bias as I am a hardcore Missouri fan. Now talk about Weatherspoon and thats a whole different story. As he is the best OLB in the NCAA.
AJ Green definitely deserves to be on here. He had the most receiving yards in the SEC which is known for being a defense first conference playing on a run first team. He may not be quite as strong as Julio, but he sure is faster.
spiller4heisman- if spiller ran a 4.2 he should be looking like reggie bush on the field, he hasnt proved anything to me to become a top runningback. He has a few good plays here and there but nothing great. Also the fact that he plays in the WEAK ACC Conference means he should be wreckin’ a lot better than he has shown so far.
spiller winning the heisman trophy would be funny (hell would freeze over first) he might win the heisman if he played in the MAC Conference, w/ his talents he should be able to win it in the ACC but he doesnt have that real runningback mantallity. He’s more like a devin hester trying to play runningback, just stick to special teams……
I think Zac Robinson out of Oklahoma State is a top 5 quarterback (just replace with Kansas). Dez Bryant should be a 99 as well. I think Georgia’s WR should make the top 5. I think your missing OU’s Demarco Murray in running backs as well. Also, Ga Tech’s RB is top 5. The rest look like solid guesses.
dwyer will be listed as a full back b/c of gt’s offense unless theyve changed flex teams to have a wing back position
C.J. Spiller will get shutdown this year because Clemson quarterback sucks which will make the defense expect the run. We all know C.J. cant take alot of punishment I mean lets be honest.
C.J. will have a flop year because Clemson has no QB. Defense will key on that.
ok for one thing the acc is #2 confrence overall (big 12 #1) yes florida could beat all acc teams but thats all the sec has besides bama and in acc u play great D week in and week out so idk wat ur talking about we did just brake the rec for putting most teams in a bowl and spiller got hurt this year its the first time in his career and kyle parker=raw plus jamie harper who is bigger and faster than dwyer look him up plz and big ballin ur an idiot and dont need to post on this forum anymore a 4.3? hes faster than crabtree come on 4.5 at best u kidz know nothing about football and spiller avg 6.? yards a carry so that means if he runs ball 20x thats 120+yrds thats good enough for me an dont forget his kr/pr and his recievin yards so if not for tebow/bradford spiller should get he is best rb
So I’m looking forward to EA Sports NCAA 10 coming out July 14. I was hoping to find a real SECfootball fan who would want to participate in an online dynasty on XBOX 360. Last year was the first year for this feature, but mostly the people I found would quit after a couple of days. So If you have any idea what Im talking about and love EA NCAA football email me at danieltalley@rocketmail.com
cj spiller SUCKS its all about Chris Rainy and Jeffrey Demps…jk about spiller but he is overrated
if anyone saw the penn relays cj spiller got ate up on the track by trindon holliday…and judging by hollidays start out the blocks he can possibly run the fastest 40 time ever recorded at the nfl combine…i predict 4.18…only cause his start is incredible
