  1. Ryan says:

no i dont agree with this….auburn was top 20 in offense last year and had key players on defense hurt for most of last year….auburn should be in top 25 especially if michigan state made it

  2. matt smith says:

Are you guys really that stupid???? Tennessee is always in the top 25. Get it right retards!

    Brian Kaldenberg Reply:

Tennessee is not always in the top 25. They need to earn it back, and with the SEC as loaded as it is I don’t see Tennessee having that good of a year.

  3. happylenin says:

Is Boise ranked so high because of their weak schedule, or do you actually believe they’re that good?

  4. DeForest says:

Really? You left Texas Tech out? That is ridiculous. The Raiders are constantly competing in the Big 12 and ALSO are the only Big 12 team to have a winning record since it’s inception! No excuse for that.

  5. Wally Yappo says:

LOL, how is the SEC loaded? Outside of LSU and Bama and Florida they aren’t that impressive. Stop drinking the ESPN koolaid and watch some college football yourself.

    Brian Kaldenberg Reply:

You just rattled off three teams. Anytime you have to say outside of “3 teams” the conference is pretty loaded. I’d throw Auburn, South Carolina into the mix in the SEC too. Tennessee has been irrelevant for awhile now.

  6. bamadawg says:

@Wally Yappo- You are clearly an idiot. Seeing that you are one, I will go easy on you. For one thing, you need to watch a little college football yourself, because the SEC is fully loaded. Outside of Alabama and Florida (because LSU shouldn’t even be compared to them) there is a pretty high powered Ole Miss. Also, Tennessee will have a pretty good season along with South Carolina and Auburn. Vandy and Mississippi State will not have great seasons, but not horrible ones. Arkansas starts in the top 25, and with a 100% Ryan Mallet, their offense will prevail. Georgia will have a comeback season, and will make the top 25 at least once before the season is over.
So you see, you may not fully understand it, but the SEC is the reining #1 conference in college football. There is a reason the last 4 national champions have come from this conference. If Alabama doesn’t repeat, then someone will probably still come out of the SEC and win it. I can’t find not one team who could beat Alabama, Florida, or (i hate to say it but) LSU when their team is 100% healthy on paper or on the field.
@matt smith- Hate to break it to you, but only the national champion is assured a ranking in the following season. Sorry!

  7. Harrien Hoosiers says:

How come IU is ranked at all? They have the best WR/QB/RB combo in the Big ten? You have to be kidding me!!!!

  8. Kevin says:

No Texas Tech in the top 25?… what a joke

  9. Adam says:

brian, not bad on the rankings, but why Nebraska so low? The offensive line finally got healthy against Arizona and showed what they can do. Lee has a year of experience and freshman QB Martinez is going to a stud. 2 stud RB’s back and one of the best defenses in the country. The schedule is pretty soft. They are at least worthy of a top 10 ranking.

    Brian Kaldenberg Reply:

    Adam Fraser,

I think they’ll lose atleast 2 games. Playing in the Big 12 north, you can’t lose 2 games and expect to be a top 10 team. How’s golf going? You should look up my father in law during the winter months. He goes down to AZ. http://www.johndahlgolf.com

  10. Adam says:

Who do you see them losing to? everybody is so high on gilbert from texas…what exactly has he done besides throw 3 picks against alabama? nebraska 27-14 Texas A&M is the scariest game on the schedule for me right now. it’s late in the year and on the road. as long as we’re healthy, 31-28. oklahoma state is going to struggle this year. i know i’m biased but i can see them maybe stumbling against texas or texas a&m, but not both. i’ll say 12-0 or 11-1 regular season.

what do you think about nebraska in the big ten? i’m curious to see what divisons they come up with. i’m guessing iowa and nebraska will be in the same one. that will be a good rivalry.

i don’t really play a lot anymore. i play once or twice a month with some guys i work with. but a top 100 instructor is the real deal. if you’re out here, let me know and we can go play somewhere and talk college football.

    Brian Kaldenberg Reply:

I see them losing to Texas and they’ll lose another fluke like they did last year against ISU. That’s two losses and that’s not a top 10 team. If I’m in AZ this winter we’ll get together and reminisce our NP vs. Ballard days.

  11. lance says:

hey dumb fuck that says tennessee is always in the top 25. your wrong. tennessee is the worst team in the sec. vanderbilt beats them. plus derek dumbass dooley is the worst coach in tennessee history!!

  12. Devyn says:

all and all i think its pretty good how well do you think ohio state will do and the tennesee guy there rite ware there suposed 2 b they finished 54th and didnt breng back a lot of starters and they lost there haed coach and they are in a loaded confrence thats not a good combo

  13. Devyn says:

all and all i think its pretty good how do u think ohio state will do and what do u think is the strongest confrence and the tennesee guy there rite ware there suposed 2 b the finished 54th and they lost there head coach and they are in a loaded confrense if they would do beter than 8 wins they would b a suprise team

  14. Adam says:

Brian, iowa finished #7 in most polls…with 2 losses! GO HUSKERS! 2011…the rivalry begins.

    Brian Kaldenberg Reply:

    Adam,

Very good point you bring up with Iowa losing twice and being ranked #7.

  15. louis says:

iam tired of people saying that boise state shouldnt be rank high they are a very good football team not their fault they cant get anybody to play them they been trying to get good teams to schedule for 5 years

  16. Justin says:

Nevermind that Auburn had one of the most explosive offenses last year and was number 4 in recruiting this year. Like always the SEC doesnt get the respect they deserve. Michigan State? really! I didnt know they had a team this year!

  17. dylan says:

why the hell is michigan state ranked

  18. Adam K says:

    Auburn should be atleast 21st-25th
    Darvin Adams..
    Cam Newton..
    Mcalebb/Dyre
    With Kodi burns at wildcat..

    I see a 12 win maybe 13 win season..

    Maybe undefeated..

Depends on how beat up Alabama is…

  19. bean machine says:

Auburn will have a good year but they will not win 12 games…

  20. Kush Smoke 26 says:

The Razorbacks will shine this season. A complete offense with Mallet at the wheel. The defense will surprise this year…..

  21. Jerry says:

Texas Tech should definitely be in the Top 25, I’d say they’re the second best team in the Big 12 South, right behind UT.

  22. Adam says:

Jerry, Phil Steele has Oklahoma ranked #1…in the nation and you say TT is ahead of them in the big 12 south? completely new offense and 2 qbs…8 or 9 wins would be a good season.

  23. Willii says:

Rankings are good. Alabama is #1, and Florida has been givin a chance. I only really watch SEC football and other top 3 or so games, so I only have 1 question. I think auburn should be in the top 15-25. Don’t get me wrong, cause I’m a bama fan. But Auburn should have a shot in the top 25.

  24. Lee says:

Tennessee is not ranked every year or the powerhouse it was a decade ago but usc was sorry 10 years ago so it comes and goes

  25. john says:

texas tech?!? The Big 12 is not going to get much respect except for UT and OU. The rest of that conference is in shambles and should be thankful they are still considered a major conference
