Most Popular Online Teams in NCAA Football 14

Get used to the teams on this list…if you are an online gamer you will find yourself matched up with each of them nearly any time you try to find a game online.

rosters

1. Alabama – Every year we talk about how much the Tide lose, but every year they bring back an insane amount of talent and should once again be one of the highest rated teams on NCAA 14. In fact, Alabama will probably be THE highest rated team, and users will be able to lean on a super-accurate passer in QB A.J. McCarron, a terrific set of receivers, and a highly-rated line to pave the way for RB T.J. Yeldon. Add in an elite defense with a sick set of linebackers, and the Tide will make for one tough matchup online.

2. Ohio State – QB Braxton Miller will likely be rated similar to Denard Robinson last season: low 90’s overall, decent passing ability, and excellent rushing skills. Users that like running quarterbacks will have a field day with the Buckeyes, and the elite offensive line and RB Carlos Hyde will provide a nice complement to Miller. The defense won’t be quite at the level of the offense, but users that like to control a LB can wreak havoc with Ryan Shazier, and the secondary will lock down almost any passing attack.

3. Texas A&M – The Aggies return arguably the most exciting player in college football: Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel. Users will be salivating to get their hands on Manziel, who will probably be mid-to-high 90’s overall, with a great arm and excellent running skills. RB Ben Malena will provide a solid rushing attack to accompany Manziel. Users may struggle a bit on defense, but the offense has such high-scoring potential that it may not even matter. Watch out for the Aggies online.

4. Oregon – The Ducks are slowly gaining popularity online, and they will be a favorite again this year. Oregon has tons of speed and the combination of dual-threat QB Marcus Mariota and explosive do-everything RB De’Anthony Thomas will make the offense a threat to score every play. A loaded secondary and DE Taylor Hart, who will be a big-time sack threat, will make it tough for opponents to throw the ball in attempt to keep up with the Ducks high-speed, high-scoring offense.

5. Notre Dame – The Irish have been a sleeping giant for years in NCAA, and after last year’s national title run they will bust out in a big way in NCAA 14. We know Notre Dame will have one of the game’s best offensive lines, and the defense may be an A+. The only real flaw may be the lack of a punishing ground game, but QB Everett Golson and speedy RB George Atkinson provide plenty of potential to move the ball. Expect to see plenty of Alabama vs. Notre Dame matchups online this year, but now the Irish are equipped to take down the Tide.

Honorable Mentions: Nebraska, South Carolina – Nebraska will boast one of the game’s best rushing attacks with QB Taylor Martinez and RB Ameer Abdullah, and will finally have a go-to WR in Kenny Bell. Though the offense will be explosive, an average defense will hold the Huskers back in online play. For the Gamecocks, QB Connor Shaw and WR Bruce Ellington will give the offense plenty of firepower despite the loss of RB Marcus Lattimore. The real focus of SC though will be DE Jadeveon Clowney, who is a lock to be the game’s highest-rated defensive player. Opposing offenses will have to live with Clowney in the backfield almost every play, and he is an excellent candidate to track down scrambling quarterbacks.
